W.H. Lung are back with lead single ‘How To Walk’ — bringing an energy that just can’t be contained.

If you were wondering when W.H. Lung would bless the world with new music, well, you’re in for a treat. The Mancunian synth-pop band have just announced their third album ‘Every Inch of Earth Pulsates’, alongside the release of the lead single ‘How To Walk’.

Ever since W.H. Lung started out, they had a knack for playing live. ‘How To Walk’ is freeing, joyful, adventurous, and has that exact energy that the band continue to bring to their performances. Capturing that spirit in the studio could never have been an easy job, especially after the praise they’ve received from audiences across the UK. Yet, ‘How To Walk’ does so effortlessly, and I can’t wait to hear how the rest of the album translates.

Ross Orton, a Sheffield-based producer who’s worked with the likes of Arctic Monkeys, managed to harness this side of the band, ensuring that everything they recorded together for the upcoming album had that powerful, anthemic feel of their live shows.

Singer Joseph Evans and guitarist Tom Sharkett note:

“Ross is the Sheffield Steve Albini… He’s the king of not overthinking it and trusting the process of the art of recording songs. He was always there to stop us fucking around with cerebral stuff and get it down.”

“He was the exact producer we needed without us even realising. His productions and mixes are bombastic, lively and in your face. He brought a real dose of magic to the songs we’d written."

Every Inch of Earth Pulsates Album Artwork

Every Inch of Earth Pulsates is a leap forward in their career, bringing an additional element of liveliness and excitement to their discography. The album stays true to the band's roots, drawing on dance, synth-pop, and indie influences, while maintaining that energy like no other.

“The big difference with this record is its directness in every sense,” says Sharkett.

Our first taste of the album is in ‘How To Walk’, a lead single made with only one thing in mind — how it would translate on stage. It’s dramatic, driven by synths and vocals, and I can already hear how well it’s going to go down with crowds.

Every Inch of Earth Pulsates will be released on October 18th via Melodic Records. You can also catch the band on tour in the UK this November, playing their biggest headline show to date at New Century Hall in Manchester; a homecoming show for the times.

“The reason I’m in a band is to play live music…”

If there’s one thing you do today, make sure it’s buying a ticket to see W.H. Lung live this year, you won’t regret it.
