Building on the energetic, groove-laden momentum of his previous releases, ‘Geek Love’ continues Skinner’s adventurous streak in bold, bombastic style. Blending funky, infectious guitar riffs with his signature "no-wave" aesthetic, this new three-track collection stands as one of his most immediate and impactful works in an already explosive career.

While giving some insight into the EP Skinner explains,

“The EP is inspired by disco and noise music. Taking all the pleasantries and rhythms associated with 70’s disco songs and throwing them in a blender with harsher atonal guitars and lyrics.  A lot of the themes in the songs explore embracing individuality and expressing that outwardly without being afraid of what people might think. I wanted to create a new wave of disco music where I could let out that frustration and anger while also being able to dance along to it.”

Each of the three tracks on *Geek Love* stands out with its own distinct personality, seamlessly transitioning from one to the next. Every moment pulses with energy, ensuring there’s never a lapse in engagement. From the first beat to the final note, the EP demands attention, immersing the listener in its vibrant soundscape and leaving a craving for more. It’s the kind of release that doesn’t just capture your interest—it holds it tightly, making you anticipate what Skinner has in store next. It’s that true unpredictability that keeps you hooked.

What stands out about Skinner is his bravery in trying something new and being authentically himself. It’s a fresh unique sound coming from the heart of Ireland, Skinner’s music is infused with the DNA of no-wave and post-punk legends like The B52s, James Chance and the Contortions, and ESG, while also nodding to alt-rock icons like Pixies and Morphine. His talent for grunge-tinged self-production, coupled with moments of elevated instrumentation, shines through in every track, creating a sound that feels both raw and intricately layered. The influences are palpable, yet Skinner’s distinct style makes it all uniquely his own.

Skinner creates a sound that's unapologetically fresh and unmistakably his. This EP is a thrilling ride, proving that Skinner is not just an artist to watch, but one that will continue to surprise and captivate.
